Nicolás Axelrod, Children of Cambodia
Children, the innocent victims of poverty, born into families that struggle to survive, they are sent out to work at an early age. Half of Cambodia’s population is under the age of 25. In Cambodia it is common to see children selling food and knick-knacks, children walking around with large bags collecting plastic bottles and cans, some of these children are lucky enough to go to school and only work between school hours, but for many there is no time for school. They have to help their families or sometimes are the only source of income. A large number of NGOs work in Cambodia helping families and children off the streets and out of poverty.
