Glenn Capers

I’ve come to realize that my art has diversity with powerful individual vision, that chronicles the life of individuals. People draw me into their lives to tell their story to anyone willing to listen and validate their reason for living. My attraction to story telling grew as my life developed behind a camera. I discovered that it’s not how a photographer looks at the world that is important, it’s their relationship with their fellow human beings and these moments of connectivity that are frozen in time for all to see.

I am now teaching street photography and journalism around the world. Helping people to find their stories after they identify their personal pilgrimage.

As a photographer I have won a John F Kennedy award, Leica Medal of Excellence for outstanding achievement in Humanistic Photojournalism, NPPA region 10, award, and many more

  1. Every time I look at Glenn’s photos, they reveal something new. That should not be surprising since every time I’ve seen Glenn and his wife (Roma) of two decades over the years, I learn and see something new in their faces, but yet the same steadfast love and admiration for each other. His comment about helping others to realize their personal pilgrimage seem to be true as I’ve heard admirable comments made by one of his longtime students She was one of several students who he allowed to put his name of workshops in order to help them draw attention to their craft. Not many people would do something so gracious. We who have known Glenn and Roma from as far back as the 80s when we were all like the song “Young and Dumb” miss him. But, happy that he lived a life of creativity while sustained by the constant love of Roma and the friendship of many others.
